When and Where is the Celebration?
The Loving Day Celebration to be held in State College, Pennsylvania, commemorates the anniversary of the Loving vs. Virginia (1967) landmark Supreme Court decision that legalized Interracial Marriage in the United States.
It is being hosted by The Multi-racial/Multi-cline Family Resource Community Support Group here in State College, which is a support group and social network for families of multiracial, multicline, multiethnic, multicultural and multiple heritage make-up. These are families where the partners in a couple, married or not, with children or not, often including adoptive parents of children who have different heritages or blended families, or singles, have come together for understanding and support through discussion and social interaction.
All are welcome to attend the Loving Day Celebration, regardless of family make-up or heritage. We truly hope to make this a multicultural event as well as an educational and fun event for persons of all ages. Please feel free to pass this information on to anyone who you feel may be interested. We are asking that all families or individuals planning to attend please bring a prepared food dish with them to share. There will be music, activities, games and fun.
