After The Event

How did it go?:

The Loving Day Flagship Celebration in New York City celebrated its twelfth year in New York with hundreds of guests. Thanks to our Premier sponsors InterracialDatingCentral.com and Asahi Beer, guests enjoyed the unique energy and diversity of Loving Day on the waterfront with DJs, dancing, food, and drinks in a positive community atmosphere. Younger guests enjoyed the art and family area.

Loving Day founder Ken Tanabe followed tradition by telling the story of the Lovings. He also shared two new books out this year: Loving Day, a fictional novel by award-winning author Mat Johnson, and L'amour des Loving by journalist Gilles Biassette, which was released in France. There was a big thank you to Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams for his official proclamation recognizing Loving Day.

There were Loving Day Celebrations in a record six countries this year: Paris, France; Amsterdam, Netherlands; London, England; Tokyo and Hodugawa (Kyoto prefecture), Japan; Taipei, Taiwan; and over 24 cities in the United States. There have been over 230 Loving Day Celebrations in the past twelve years.

As always, the diverse crowd brought incredible positive energy and made the afternoon an absolute pleasure. A very sincere thank you to everyone who celebrated Loving Day with us. You helped us to continue our New York tradition for twelve years and to inspire celebrations in cities all over the world.
