FOR SPONSORS AND VENUES
Loving Day is about connecting cultures and building a sense of community among people who engage in meaningful intercultural relationships. The 2007 Loving Day celebration commemorates the 40th anniversary of Loving v. Virginia (1967), the Supreme Court case that legalized interracial relationships in America. The campaign uses digital media to educate and to encourage annual nationwide celebrations on or around June 12th. The largest celebration will be on June 10th from 3-7 at Solar 1, New York City’s first solar-powered "Green Energy, Arts, and Education Center." Loving Day is also co-organizing the academic Loving decision Conference at Roosevelt University in Chicago from June 21-24. Loving Day teaches people about the history of interracial couples and works to make the Loving case a universally recognized civil rights landmark. Recent press includes dedicated articles in the Washington Post and the Village Voice.
